On the stretch of road between Hoopers Island General Store and Old Salty’s, a band of Chalk Artists from across the country will be joining us for two days on the first weekend of November. These artists have been selected by the “Chalk Mafia” Facebook group to participate with Hoopers Island’s Chalk Artist Ed Krell at this inaugural festival that will celebrate the Island. There will be Chalk Art workshops for all ages on-site led by Lori Antoinette of LAntArt.com and opportunities for the public to experience this interactive medium at the festival. The Festival is a free, family-friendly event held rain or shine as the artists will be working within a Boat Barn that attendees walk through to watch the process and meet the artists. Come by Saturday morning to see how it all begins and circle back on Sunday to be amazed by the finished pieces. There will also be entertainment by local live bands throughout both days with food, art, and nonprofit vendors from Dorchester County.
