Judy Slaughter – member of the Cambridge community for over 25 years. Prior to her move from Baltimore, Judy served as the Director of the Governor’s Drug & Alcohol Prevention Coalition’s Maryland Drug-Free Workplace Initiative under Governor Schaefer. Upon retirement, Judy volunteered as the Horticultural Therapy Specialist with the Eastern Shore Hospital Center (ESHC). At the present time, she is their Director of Volunteer Services. Judy has a graduate degree in Adulthood and Aging from Notre Dame College and is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional. She enjoys working with the elderly and mentally challenged. As Director in the State mental health facility, Judy provides recreational activities and supportive programs. She is a certified Master Gardener and enjoys ‘digging in the dirt’ and educating community members about best practices for the Chesapeake Bay. She is the author of Mosey & Bozey, A Very Likely Tail – a ‘family book’ on issues surrounding families and aging. Judy is dedicated to providing ‘arts for all” in Dorchester County.
Regina Butler – resident of Cambridge for 24 years, with full-time residence established in 2019. An ardent follower of the arts, Rege has been particularly inspired by the achievements of the Dorchester Center for the Arts. With a deep appreciation for the cultural and artistic community, Rege is committed to contributing to its growth and success. As a dedicated board, member Rege actively participates in initiatives to enrich and elevate the presence of the art center, ensuring its continued impact and relevance in the community.
Robert Gladney – multi-talented artist who has studied the fine arts of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic design at various art schools across the country. Always keen to help others experience the joy that he has found in art, he particularly enjoys the beginning students and is always there to answer questions and help the students figure out the answers. Robert has served as a volunteer instructor both onsite and in the County for outreach projects and is pleased to grow his involvement with the organization and his service to the community as a member of the Board.
Tom Wheeler – a working artist for twenty years who values the contribution the arts make to all people. He holds a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland and recently retired from his role as Principal in a Washington DC award-winning architectural firm. Tom has made the Eastern Shore his full-time home and brings a wealth of volunteer and board experience to DCA. He looks forward to supporting the growth of the outreach programs of the organization to better serve the community and will utilize his project management background for the upcoming capital projects at DCA.
Donna Robbins Era – born and raised in Dorchester County. Attended Salisbury State University and University of Maryland receiving a BA and MA in Social Work. Employed at Eastern Shore Hospital Center from 1969 to 2004 as a clinical social worker, promoted to Director of Social Work in 1993 until retirement. Donna joined Quota International of Cambridge in 1996, elected to the Quota Board in 1999 and served as President from 2005-2007. Elected to the Quota International District #10 East Area Board as Treasurer in 2008, Lt. Governor in 2010. In 2012 was elected as Governor of District #10 East Area. Currently a board member of Partners in Giving, Inc, since 2019 serving as By-laws Chairperson and a member of Disadvantaged Women and Children, Better Hearing and Speech, and Scholarship Committees.
In the past ten years she has also volunteered at One Mission Cambridge, Cold Weather Shelter, and Friends of the Library. She enjoys needlework and crocheting.
Janeen V. Ford – lifelong resident of Cambridge, Maryland; only living away from Cambridge while in college, and for approximately two years after my graduation. I am a 1986 graduate of Cambridge South Dorchester High School and a 1990 graduate of Bowie State University with a B. S. in Political Science. I have worked for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives since January of 1990, serving in several capacities and currently serving as the Assistant Financial Manager, Travel Card Management Branch. Community involvement includes leadership positions with numerous civic and community groups.

Holly Gilpin – experienced human resources specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the human resources industry. She is skilled in Administration, Workforce Management, Human Resources, Writing, and OSHA. She also offers Corporate Training, Career Development Coaching, Resume Review, Resume Writing, Team Building, Leadership Development, and HR Consulting. Holly holds a Bachelor of Science – focused on Tourism and Travel Services Management – from Concord University. Holly is pleased to work with DCA to promote the arts. Throughout Dorchester County, there is a growing number of public artworks, including twenty murals – some part of the Chesapeake Mural Trail – as well as sculptures including the “Beacon of Hope” Harriet Tubman sculpture by Wesley Wofford.
