(Online) Bookmaking: Family Stories and Memory With Eduardo Valadez

August 8, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Families of all ages are invited to join this virtual bookmaking workshop that explores themes of memory and family history. Participants will create a leporello book (accordion book), using images and motifs inspired by the personal stories of their families. A leporello book is similar to a codex, which is a written/visual book form used by many ancient cultures throughout the world to interpret time and history. Each family or participant will explore the cultural significance of the codex, and their connection to their family’s past through the journey of a chosen ancestor. Open to families and community members ages 5+.
