Second Saturday Artists’ Reception for the current exhibit will feature an artist’s talk with Fredy Granillo.

Fredy is a Salvadoran musician, painter, and ceramist. He graduated from El Salvador’s
Autonomous National University in 2012 with a degree in Visual Arts. As a musician, he is a
singer-songwriter with Trova and Andean influences. As a painter, he works with oil on canvas.
His paintings represent the improvised architecture of his childhood and explore the way light
and rich palettes of color saturate the spaces that are simultaneously densely populated yet
absent of direct human presence. The scenes are ubiquitous to countries around the world, yet
intensely intimate to his dreams and memories.

He has exhibited his paintings and ceramic work in El Salvador and the United States. He has
been painting Talavera since he was 11 years old and has taught ceramics, Talavera decorative
style painting, and art therapy. Fredy lives with his wife and son in Chestertown, Maryland.

Reception runs 5- 7pm with complimentary light refreshments. All are welcome!
