The Community Arts Grants program is an effort of the Dorchester Center for the Arts, (DCA) as the designated county Arts Council, to support and expand arts programming throughout Dorchester. These funds, allocated by the Maryland State Arts Council, are intended to encourage arts programming and arts participation across the county. Supported arts disciplines include dance, theatre, visual arts, music, film/media arts, literary arts, folk/heritage/traditional and multi-disciplinary arts programming. The Community Arts Grants program has been temporarily revised to include grants for general support (not project-based) as a means of recognizing the significant financial impact of the pandemic on the nonprofit arts community.
Individual grants average $250- $1000. Programs must take place between September 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020, or between January 1, 2021 and June 30, 2021.
