Fiber artist Laura Rankin instructs this one-day workshop exploring painting with wool through 2D needle felting on craft felt backing. In this workshop students will learn basic techniques of composition, color blending and how to get the most from the wool for color interest and subtleties. All the workshop materials will be provided, including 9” x 12” pieces of craft felt for backing plus more than 50 colors of wool batt. Students will need to bring a reference photo of what they’d like to “paint” with wool. Each student will leave with their completed creations plus their own felting needle and foam pad, as well as a handout about techniques, suggested reading, and online material resources – everything needed to continue their own magical needle felting journey.

Workshop cost: $65/person Members and $100/person Non-members + 15 materials fee payable to instructor on first class date.
