Black Girls and Butterflies are Beautiful

A dual artist exhibition featuring the work of Kianga Jinaki and Charlese Annette Phillips. Jinaki is a Baltimore based, award winning fiber artist, whose work celebrates Black life, its beauty and its complexities.
Phillips is a Delaware based artist whose work is focused on color, texture and identity. She is an interdisciplinary artist who explores her creativity through fiber, painting, photography and more.
The artwork in Black Girls and Butterflies are Beautiful is deeply rooted in heritage, storytelling and ancestral connections. This exhibition is a celebration of Black women, Black Life and Black beauty through mixed media and ancient textile traditions.
