One Day Workshop

This class offers experienced watercolor artists the opportunity to paint together working from their own photos and the instructors, along with weekly still life setups. The class explores various
techniques, learns triad painting along with how different pigments work. Critique is part of every class.

As a part of the first class participants will learn about tones, setting up a palette and how to see nature in a different light. Students will take home a finished painting.

This class is intended to introduce you to what’s involved in the craft of stained glass. The finished
piece will be a 12 x 12 Tiffany-style panel using the copper foil method. Students will be shown how
to recognize and fix problems with patterns, how to choose colors that work well together, and how to
use all the tools that are on hand. Cutting, grinding, soldering and final fabrication will be taught in this
class.If you are experienced in working with glass and the tools, come join us! No open toed shoes
for safety!

Yes, they’re messy – but the instant dazzle of an array of colors (thousands) make the excitement and
pleasure of pastel painting so appealing! C. G. Miles has worked in pastels for more than 40 years
and will share her experience and appreciation for the medium as well as reveal helpful guidance in
the creating paintings that please. Photos, still-life setups and demonstrations will be used during the
class.

Paco’s workshops give participants an overview of the Arte en Estambre technique and make
connections to Mexican artistic and cultural traditions. Arte en Estambre are artworks on wood
surfaces that are covered with two types of wax (from Mexico) onto which yarn is pressed, cut,
shaped, one-by-one, into an intricate original artwork. Participants will create their own pressed yarn
work of art on a pre-cut flat surface using materials only available in Mexico.

This is a class for beginners that want to discover creative expression through the ancient craft of
manipulating mud. Students in this class will learn hand building pottery using slabs, coils, and hump
molds. The focus will be on creating functional forms like bowls, cups and platters and encouraging

making new friends!

This workshop is designed for both beginners with some skills and experienced pastelists. It is always valuable to revisit the basics – materials, value and color, pastel techniques (including strokes) and composition. In addition, each student will express their personal challenges in their work -“why wasn’t this piece successful?” Katie and the class will offer insight and suggestions on how a particular piece may be improved. Join us for a fun and easy 4-week crochet class designed for absolute beginners—perfect for both children and adults! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basic stitches, how to read a simple pattern, and how to start and finish a project. Work on your understanding of this quick drying paint medium to learn better control as you dive into this versatile vehicle for painting landscapes, still lifes, abstracts and more. Whatever the level, this class will inspire growth to find joy using this medium. Basic areas of composition, value studies and color mixing will be covered through simple demonstrations. Sharing feedback from all will be a part of this experience.

Students will carve a Ward Style Bufflehead drake decoy using a knife or more advanced students will power carve. All decoys are completed with paint. A $90 supply fee is payable to the instructor at the first class for the wood, eyes, and paint for the project.

A Great Date Night Idea!

You bring the passion we’ll supply everything else Share a close encounter with your partner creating a new form. It will be messy and it will be fun! You will receive instruction on the Potter’s wheel to make a bowl or cup while creating memories in clay. There will be wine and beverage to lighten the mood. Step outside the potters studio and enjoy live music during our open mic night. Remember to dress down, it’s going to be a dirty experience.

Coffee and Pots is a fun, relaxing workshop that combines creating a piece of pottery in a social setting.. You will learn techniques to either hand build or create your piece on the potters wheel. over a cup or coffee and light snack. This is a great class for individuals, or couples.
