JOHN R IAMPIERI
John is a visual artist interested in sharing the magical, very functional art form of screen
painting. Growing up in Baltimore, he experienced seeing, hand painted screens everywhere in many
Baltimore row house neighborhoods. Learning from the same techniques as the founder Czechoslovakian born William Oktavec.
John is a member of the Baltimore Painted Screen Society. John has traveled throughout
Maryland teaching this 112 year old folk art. He is a roster member with MSAC & roster member of Arts for Learning MD, enabling him to
teach in schools throughout Maryland, using 21st Century – TAI 1 & TAI 2 classroom education

John  is also a member of many Art leagues throughout DE & MD and works with many
charitable organizations donating screens for fundraisers. In addition, John has screen painting
workshops available for all ages in libraries, museums, private homes, as well as exhibitions
around the east coast. In windows, screen doors, wall hangings and as porch enclosures. John’s paintings are
commissioned worldwide, frequently exhibiting in numerous venues including; museums,
libraries, businesses, books, magazines, newspapers, movies, and TV, such as NBC Today
Show Anne Curry & the CBS Sunday Morning Show with Connie Chung.
John’s commissions have reached as far as Japan.
