“Expanded Bouquet” is made of manually printed and hand-cut handmade paper elements carefully arranged in an unconventional self-portrait installation. Each object illustration represents a flower, gift, or memory in the ever-expanding bouquet of the artist’s life. States Chan, “this piece explores how building a collection of ordinary mementos can help shape one’s lifelong journey of learning to love oneself”. Chan is a paper cutting and printmaking artist based in Baltimore, MD. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
